Easter Letter
Recently, I asked somebody what happened on Easter Day and they said “Oh, Jesus rose from the dead”. It sounded pretty boring to me but Easter is a fantastic Feast. If only we had the imagination to understand it. God sends his Son who lives amongst us, teaches us and forms the Church. He is arrested, tried and killed on the Cross. On Easter Day, he overthrows it all and rises from the dead, truly amazing!
Christianity is not another religion. It is the fulfilment of all God’s grappling with man and more than that it is the fulfilment of all man’s religious dreams. From the earliest days of Creation, man seeks for God and God reaches down to man. In Jesus it all comes to completion.
